Can you tell what it is yet ?
Dandenong Ranges Open Studios Program is almost upon us. This is a time when artists, those shy retiring types, who normally hide in nooks and crannies in the hills, welcome visitors from far and wide to visit their creative spaces. To poke around their lives, see the artistic process in action and perhaps enjoy a local beverage or two.
As a promise to myself, that I WILL complete a rather large project which is more in my head than on cloth at the minute, I am posting a picture of the first of many dyes. This piece is intended to be showcased at 'Naked Beast - Where the Wild Things Are', a collaborative exhibition of all artists work, to be held at Burrinja from Friday 20th May.

So I better get my skates on and my hands dirty now that I have announced my intentions on the
World Wide Web!

My annual 'fix'
I am blessed.
Once a year, since I moved to Australia, I have had the opportunity to be in the presence of this MAN. It's an addiction, thanks to my brother who took me to my first concert when I was 5 months pregnant with Kaspar. (I'm sure that's why he has 'the groove'), I haven't looked back since and will move heaven and earth to see him. Fortunately Michael Franti loves touring in Australia and comes to my stomping ground which means I haven't had to move much but myself !!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ykdk_v7QOMo
ENJOY!
When many little people, in many little places, do many little things then the whole world changes..........

Because I am A Girl
If you are in Melbourne, then it may be an idea to pop along to SmartArtz Gallery. They have a fundraising exhibition by 30 female artists called Because I am a Girl. Proceeds will go to Plan who fight gender inequality, promote girls rights and lift millions out of poverty.
Well worth a visit....and you may see some butterflies there too!

There's no place like home!
We had such a good night on Friday at Limerence. Thankyou to everyone that came along and supported my first solo exhibition in Melbourne. Lucky I am friends with the very talented Danielle Quarmby too !
