My little soldiers
Plodding, plodding, plodding away. The 'business' end (as they say on Masterchef) when we frame and document and moreover cull and DECIDE....or is that decode? I've just poured a wine and I'm tired!

Why....?
In a bid to 'get ahead', I prepared lots of meals on Monday night but somehow I'm still in the kitchen for too long every single night! Usually I LOVE being creative with my palette of spices and potions but at this juncture would much rather be in the studio. Judging by this vignette, I am not alone in my sentiment, although I would have a empty G&T glass in one hand.

Talking of bananas....
Davy Jones passed away last week and that made me unexpectedly pensive. My brother and I grew up with The Monkees, Robinson Crusoe (French version for TV 1964) and The Banana Splits on a Saturday morning. Happy Days! So rather than mourn and post Daydream Believer, lets celebrate with The Banana Splits....and a little bit of nostalgia from Robinson Crusoe.
RIP Davy Jones
Bananas and Butterflies
Nobody mention the framing, stitching, stretching and embellishing in the studio. it's all under control up here in the kitchen with a vat of dye and some wet silk!

Pulling it Together
The studio and gallery space are filling up with pieces for Burrinja. It's very intoxicating and it's still raining so I'll be locked in this world all day (yipee!) With so many and so varied pieces growing, I am never short of creative mental stimulation or moreover....stuff to finish!

The Little King
Well, yes he is here... in my studio now waiting to be robed with some beautiful silk, fit for a king (literally). Today I have carefully traced out a pattern and sewn some pieces of dyed silk together. Tomorrow it's down to the business of creating some fine garb.
Don't forget the butterflies, which I have just decided today must be constructed from bright silks and the Lilliputian cloth for Gulliver's new coat. Oh yes, lots to achieve to pull this show together in alliance with Juet Sculpture. Its the final countdown........anyone thought about catering?

Journeys In - Journeys Out
Well, with two weeks to go until we hang the exhibition, it's probably time to start promoting it! The writing is a bit Lilliputian but the salient points are, Marty, Mike and myself will be having an exhibition of our work at Burrinja from 15 March to 15 April. The MOST important bit is that our official opening, which follows the Blake Prize opening is
SATURDAY 17 MARCH at 3.30pm
